Les Harengs in Champagne? From the Middle Ages to the nineteenth century, herring, highly popular, were used as currency in the barter of wine by the barrel. The name of this lieu-dit likely echoes that ancient tradition.

Description: the wine strikes a balance between a delicate nose ( sweet almond, lemon tart, and vegetal notes) and a lively, taut palate. A fine salinity, with a hint of citrus, carries through to a long and opulent finish.
This young vintage pairs very well with mildly aged cheeses and is fully expressed alongside firm-fleshed fish with buttery sauces.
