The story of the Ventosa–Mañé family is deeply rooted in the history of the Penedès and Cava region, dating back to 1941. Over the decades, the family has played a key role in the evolution of quality winemaking, combining long-standing traditions with continuous innovation. Their commitment has always been to deliver premium-quality wines and cavas by integrating experience, passion, and modern oenological practices.
Josep Ventosa wines and cavas are crafted from carefully selected grapes grown on 40–60 year-old vines. These vineyards are located on the eastern and southern slopes of the Penedès plateaus, benefiting from optimal sun exposure that allows the grapes to reach excellent ripeness and express rich varietal character. All grapes are hand-harvested to ensure the highest level of quality.
The distinctive character of the wines is shaped by a unique terroir: limestone and sandy soils, significant temperature variations between day and night, and a Mediterranean climate. The vineyards lie at an altitude of 200–300 meters above sea level, in the area of Castellet i la Gornal, between Barcelona and Tarragona—nestled between the sea and the mountains. This diversity gives rise to the unique identity and elegance of Josep Ventosa wines and cavas.
